Ram memory is enough? it depends a lot on what operating system you run and what you plan to do with the computer. A computer running windows 98 can be fine with 256mb or 512mb of ram, because the operating system and the programs that run on it are less complex. However a windows xp computer is less functional with 512mb of ram and really needs a gigabyte of memory for smooth operation.

Windows vista computer recommends having 1gb of memory to access the higher-end functions, but if you’re doing anything memory intensive with a windows vista computer, such as gaming or photoshop, 1. 5gb or even 2gb or more of memory is a good idea.

Ram HP memory is housed in chips or integrated circuits (ics) that are either soldered or mounted onto the motherboard of the computer. There are generally a few types of ram. The two most common types of ram are dram and sram. Dram, or dynamic ram, is the slower of the two. This is because dram needs to be refreshed thousands of times per second or wise it will lose its contents.

Sram, or static ram, on the other hand, does not need to be refreshed like dram. This gives sram faster access time (the time it takes to locate and read one unit of memory). Sram access times is only around 10 nanoseconds (or 10 billionths of a second) compared to the dram’s access time of 60 nanoseconds. As such, sram is more superior to dram and that is why it is also more expansive.

Besides dram and sram, vram and wram are also quite common. Vram, or video ram, is used mainly for monitors or display terminals. Vram stores the contents or what needs to be displayed on the monitor while at the same time updating in constantly.

This makes it more efficient compared to having the video display use conventional ram instead. Wram, or windows ram, is an advancement to vram. It functions the same as vram but is more efficient and faster that vram and is used for optimum performance in windows based computers.

Ram memory is currently the most common type of computer memory upgrade for new systems including desktop computers, laptop computers and apple mac machines. We stock ddr2 ram memory modules from leading companies including a-data, ocz, g. Skill, geil, team, transcend, aeneon and many more.

The ddr2 ram laptop memory kits range in capacity from 512mb to 16gb and in speed from 533mhz to 1300mhz. The majority of our PC memory modules are available both as single ram chips, dual channel ram kits, and quad channel kits.

Ddr2 memory upgrades operate at low voltages, typically starting from 1. 8v which means they consume less power and generate less heat in comparison to other laptop memory upgrades. Cas latency for ddr2 ram memory ranges from cl3 to cl6 with the cl4 latency being the most popular for high performance gaming systems and overclocking.

Ram notebook memory is that ddr can transport double the amount of data it reads by utilizing both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal. Sdram only carries information on the rising edge of a signal. Basically this allows the ddr module to transfer data twice as fast as sdram. For example, instead of a data rate of 133mhz, ddr memory transfers data at 266mhz. Double data rate (ddr) sdram gives you twice the bandwidth of standard sdram.
